Come and distract yourself from the pressures and stresses of life by immersing yourself in a day of photography that will give you the confidence and motivation to have fun with your camera and take pictures you'll be excited about!!
This is an intensive course which will give you a very solid foundation in the main concepts of photography. By the end of this class you will understand how your camera works to give you proper exposures and which settings to use for many different shooting situations. We will also learn to understand the lens specifications for your camera and how to take full advantage of the fun features your camera offers.

This is a hands-on course and all questions are welcome and answered! If you've never used your camera before, you will leave with a very solid grasp of the features it offers AND how to use them. Each concept is explained and demonstrated and then you try it out for yourself!! There is no better way to learn than by doing. We spend the entire day learning one concept at a time and then experimenting with it so that you've tried each concept before the end of the day. You WILL be using your cameras throughout the day and we are two photographers there with you all day long to answer your questions and lead you through your cameras and the fundamental concepts of photography. You will practice your skills and increase your confidence level throughout the day.
The classes are intensive and immersive all the while being fun and exciting!
This is your opportunity to learn the basic concepts required to get better pictures. Understand what all the different settings on your camera mean and when to use them. Improve your skills and become familiar with aperture, shutter speed and ISO settings. This course will show you the difference between the different functions on your camera and what settings to use for various shooting situations.
If you’re looking to buy a new camera, lens, or piece of photo gear, we will discuss what equipment to buy.
Bring in your questions and be prepared to relax and have fun!
There will be a one-hour break for lunch. Bring your lunch and relax with your new friends before the afternoon session!
*** No previous photography or camera experience is required!!! ***
Note: Please note that if you have a fully automatic camera (i.e. you cannot adjust settings such as aperture and shutter speed) or a point-and-shoot (i.e. you cannot change lenses), you will still get alot out of this class.

"Hi Kharim, I had a great time on Saturday, and as always I enjoyed the interaction and feedback from the other 'shutterbugs'. Also, as was evident in both classes I attended, I loved the 'hands-on' approach to your teaching, the combined elements of the technical and the visual made everything clearer to me. You have fueled my passion for photography."
"Kharim, I must say that I like your enthusiasm and willingness to share your expretise. Your joyful spirit is infectious. I wish you all the success in your endeavours."

“Hi Kharim. Thank you so much for the course. It was great, and not just because it allowed me to get out of the house. I really had a good time. Your teaching style is really good. I am doing my homework and my photography is sooooo much better now.”
“Kharim, I really enjoyed the format of your course. The hands-on teaching and the practical component made everything sink in for me. I finally get this. Thank you!”
“Hi Kharim. I'm very pleased with the results that I'm getting since taking your classes. I'm a little sad that our sessions have come to an end...I truly enjoyed our time together. Thanks again and have a great day!”
“Hi Kharim. I wanted to thank you again for responding so quickly to my last minute effort in getting this gift for my wife. She is absolutely ecstatic after having taken your photography course and wants to register for your next course as well!! She has been taking photography courses for a few years and was completely frustrated because she felt she wasn't progressing. I want you to know that since she has taken your Basics class, she is raving to everyone she knows about them. And I can vouch for the huge improvement in her photography and her confidence. So once again, thank you so much for your courses and willingness to share your knowledge so freely.”
“Thank you so much Kharim. I was taking pictures most of yesterday and referred to some of the info in your course notes!!! I have to say that my pictures are much better, between the lighting, and set up and angle of shots, things are looking much better!! I really appreciate your comments and help. Thanks again.”
“I really benefited from your Flash course and would love to have the opportunity to learn more from you.”
“Hi Kharim. I really enjoyed today’s course…your enthusiasm and love for photography is very contagious and your teaching style is fantastic!! I never thought it would be possible to learn so much in one day. I’m definitely going to be signing up for your other courses and for the first time in my life, I’m enjoying doing the homework. Thanks again and see you soon…”
“Hi Kharim, you’re going to get a laugh out of this. When I read the tagline to your courses, I wondered how it was possible to “learn” and “have fun” at the same time. Well not only did I have a blast…I also learned sooo much. So it’s true, I did “learn, make friends and have fun” like you promised. You are so dynamic and engaging that I would do this again in a heartbeat.”
“WOW Kharim!! Do you ever have the gift of teaching. Did you notice how none of us wanted to leave? I really enjoyed the workshop and am looking forward to learning more from you. Thanks so much.”
“Your course was much much more than I expected. I am very excited by my results. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and techniques so freely. I am stoked. I loved the format of your course. Thanks Kharim!”
“Hi Kharim! I just finished transferring a batch of pictures to my computer and my husband is in shock. LOL. Last year I took a 10 week photography course and there was barely any improvement in my photography. Like I told you in class, I was quite discouraged. But since your Basics class I am at a whole new level…in just one day you really helped me. I can’t thank you enough. Your class is the best investment I have made in my photography. I will send you a few examples.”
“Kharim, your energy is amazing. Thank you for a perfect day – I’m inspired and really looking forward to your next class. Thanks again.”
